CRM 2011 Xrm.Page.data.entity.save with validation error

Hi,

On form I am calling Xrm.Page.data.entity.save() and then having few more lines of code after successfully saving data. However if there are validation errors this method shows alert message. I want to stop my execution if validation error has occurred. I don't see any return type for Xrm.Page.data.entity.save() method, so how can I check that record got successfully saved?
